Fans Petition to Have Metallica Removed From Glastonbury
- in Latest
Music fans have started a petition with the aim of getting Metallica removed from Glastonbury because of front man James Hetfield’s involvement in a hunting show.
Hetfield was once an avid hunter and has recently taken part in a series for the Discovery channel called The Hunt which focuses on hunting black bears in Alaska.
A Facebook campaign has now been started with the aim of getting the band removed from the bill titled “Remove Metallica from Glastonbury Festival for their support of Bear Hunting”.
The page has 14,000 likes with the number constantly growing and says: “James Hetfield, lead singer of Metallica is a supporter and promoter of big game hunting. He is currently fronting a History Channel show 'The Hunt' about hunting Bears in Alaska. This does not represent the values of environmentalism that have come to be so important at Glastonbury.”
