The soundtrack for Disney movie “Frozen” has officially become the biggest selling soundtrack since “Mamma Mia!” in the UK.

The soundtrack was certified double platinum this week and is quickly closing in on Now 87 as the biggest selling album of the year so far.

As well as the album itself performing well in the charts, six of the songs are also still holding on in the singles chart.

Lead single “Let it Go” has spent 28 consecutive weeks in the Official Singles Chart and is now certified gold.

Richard Hinkley, General Manager of Universal Music Catalogue, said: "When we first saw the movie it was evident that this had all the ingredients of a classic Disney musical soundtrack - lots of great original songs performed by strong characters, with a captivating storyline."
