Aloe Blacc Says Fame Isn't Important

Aloe Blacc has said that he doesn't pay attention to the fact that his life has changed so much recently.

The singer’s career has recently taken off with catchy tunes such as “Wake Me Up” but he insists that the fame isn't important to him.

“My wife tells me things are different now, and I just don't pay attention," he said.

"I'm just focused on other things. I'm a big believer in 'let the song lead.' The song matters. That's all I'm gonna try to do: make songs that people enjoy. Whether they like me or not, it doesn't matter.”

He also spoke of the huge success of “Wake Me Up”.

"With Wake Me Up if I had tried to write to dance music, I don't think it would have been a hit. But because it was me and [producer] Mike Einzinger, a guitar, and voice creating a song, and then Avicii remixing that, that made the difference. The production helped it reach a completely massive audience," he continued.

“I always looked at Wake Me Up as a great way to introduce my voice and my songwriting. And since my name wasn't on it, then I don't have to be known as the Wake Me Up guy. But if you recognise the voice and you have a certain attraction to the songwriting, then maybe you'll like some of the other stuff I've done.”
