Plans to Knock Cowell's X-Factor Christmas Number1 2010 Continue
- in Latest
As December draws closer, so does the X-Factor Christmas UK number 1 saga. Last Year Rage Against the Machine beat the popularity of Simon Cowell's show to the Christmas number1 place - This was done through a simple Facebook campaign.
This year talk has already emerging of a similar campaign, however there seems to be more ideas and competition. Various top radio stations are trying to plug whacky songs to be bought too.
There are also two 'silence tracks' which are in circulation. One, a charity track of Two Minutes of Silence, released this week for remembrance Sunday. In addition: Cage Against The Machine, which is over 4 minutes long.
Facebook groups also promoting the likes of Eminem have been seen too.
Is the whole thing getting a bit stupid though? Will it be as exciting as last year- Probably not. Although I don't agree with Simon Cowells power to dominate the charts! There seems to be endless mass fabricated pop acts emerging into the chart. In some cases it seems unfair on some of the more talented musicians out there.
I'm sure there will be some kind of unusual act appearing somewhere in the Christmas chart line up though..
