Award Winning Jersey Boys Songwriter Denny Randell & Partner Biddy Schippers Casting Their New Theatrical Musical in Los Angeles and Las Vegas

Los Angeles – 7/17/2014) The new theatrical musical “ Posthumously Yours,” with words, music and original story and dialogue by hit songwriters Denny Randell and his partner and collaborator Biddy Schippers, brings to life in the words of the writers, “The magic of renewed stardom through death”.
The show is about a fading super star who, with the help of his long time manager, supported in the show by a full cast, fakes his death to resurrect his failing career, and how his suddenly re-energized fans and media do their part to quickly return the now supposedly deceased artist to the very top of the charts and the number one topic on news and entertainment shows alike.
The absent but rejuvenated record star, excited at first by his sudden new fame and financial gain, realizes he cannot spend the rest of his life in hiding, which, supported by a full cast with singing, dancing and many special effects, leads to much further intrigue.
Songwriter Denny Randell, a 2014 nominee to the Songwriters Hall of Fame, is the writer of many well-known classic songs, including “Let’s Hang On”, “Working My Way Back To You” and “Opus 17 (Don’t Worry ‘Bout Me)”, some of the biggest hits by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, as featured in the smash hit Tony Award winning Broadway Musical ‘Jersey Boys’, and the latter two in just released major motion picture Directed by Clint Eastwood.
Randell, also a successful producer, arranger and former A & R director has worked on many major projects, including as a writer and producer of the recorded musical score for Tommy Tune’s off Broadway hit “ Cloud Nine”, head of pop production for Frank Zappa’s company and his Warner DiscReet label, at Frank’s personal request, the ‘American Werewolf in London’ album, George Lucas’ Star Wars cast, including R2D2 and C3PO and a number of hit projects through his entertainment company with Clive Davis. This included working with Kenny G and Meco.
In addition to writing and producing other artists with his partner and collaborator Biddy Schippers, including recently writing with and producing Penn Jillette, of Penn & Teller, Randell and Schippers have had three of their own national dance and mix radio hits as writer, producer, recording artists, referred to as “club staples’ by Mark Deming of allmusic.com. This includes the husband and wife team’s most recent hit song and hit video “Alice in Wonderland”, which spent many months in the top 10 on the Yahoo Video Charts and was one of the songs in medley they performed on the ’09 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon.
Randell and Schippers have received a special award at the Pentagon for their GI Jams project and web site www.GIJams.com showcasing and supporting the original music and performances of our U.S. musical military artists all over the world.
Randell & Schippers, who recently appeared on the red carpet for the opening night at the Hollywood Bowl and it’s 2014 Hall of Fame awards, will shortly announce the time and location in Los Angeles and Las Vegas of auditions for the casting of their new Musical “ Posthumously Yours,” and other news regarding it.
