Legendary Who Singer Blasts Simon Cowell

Legendary Who front man Roger Daltry has recently critisized the X-Factor guru by stating that the judge “wouldn’t know the X-Factor if it bit him on the b*****s!”

The singer went on to elaborate on his opinions stating a more serious undertone to his views by declaring that the emphasis on finding X-Factor style talent was killing music. “We really need to break away from The X Factor and American Idol - that Simon Cowell thing.”

The singer’s comments come at a time when the industry is viewed as being in decline. Roger Daltry is not the only legend to blast the show, with Elton John criticizing the talent and the methods of the show in the past.

It was not all doom from the Who front man, who declared that despite bands such as his own, The Beetles, and The Rolling Stones, would not get past the audition stage of the show which in itself was “a joke”, “the music industry will beat this slump and come back stronger”.

Daltry’s main blast seem to be that the X-Factor was belittling the power of music by producing ‘absolute tripe’. A view that seemed to be shared by many.

At the time of writing, a Sun poll shows that 96% of people agree with the rock legends comments.
