Singer/songwriter Skylar Gudasz writes subtly evocative, quietly powerful songs, and performs them with an understated authority that resonates deeply with her audience. The 26-year-old Durham, NC-based artist's sublimely expressive voice and effortlessly enchanting compositions disarm cynicism and defy easy categorization, embodying a timeless blend of worldly insight and open-hearted innocence.
On her recently released 7” single, Gudasz takes her melodic prowess and songwriting abilities to a deeply personal place in “Car Song”, a duet with Josh Moore. The B side features a spellbinding interpretation of “Dream Lover”, a cover of the 1970’s rock classic by the band, Big Star.
Skylar has shared the stage with such artists as Ray Davies, Robyn Hitchcock, Sharon Van Etten plus members of R.E.M. and Wilco, while performing as part of the all-star ensemble, Big Star Third on stages around the world. At every performance, she commands the attention of fans and critics, as well as her fellow performers.
