Swedish EDM superstar John Dahlback, the producer and DJ behind the label Mutants Records, has just unleashed ‘Yalla’, the brand new single from Sydney based producer and songwriter Jimi Frew. Frew, who is a breakthrough artist, has previously released on Revealed and Big Fish and is busy growing his profile based on his quirky brand of electro house. Explaining the meaning of his new track, Frew says, “Creating it was a fun and fluid experience.  I’m passionate about big room, electro house which is a little left of center, quirky and yet still functional for the DJ on the dance floor.”

Giving this single an Eastern-influenced theme, high-octane riffs and frantic, sweeping stabs give ‘Yalla’ a full-bodied feel. The title means to “hurry up” or “come on” in Arabic, so it’s no surprise the busy yet rhythmically dominant intro precedes the breakdown – adding in twangs of guitar alongside the punchy beat.
