Fly on the Wall Documentary About Jimi Hendrix due 2011
- in Latest
In 1969, Jimi Hendrix played two gigs at The Royal Albert Hall. The documentary focuses on these gigs, showing footage from the gigs as well as other footage from Hendrix’s European tour.
Janie Hendrix, Jimi Hendrix’s sister has revealed there were four cameras following the band at that time, and denies that Hendrix could not be himself when they were rolling, stating they showed how he was with girlfriends, before gigs, travelling, and that he completely forgets the cameras were there.
The film may well be shown in cinemas or pay per view TV initially, with DVD versions available later.
A live album entitled Two Night Stand, will also coincide with the release. Jimi Hendrix is considered to be both a legendary guitar player and performer who pioneered the electric guitar sound. His range of influence is present in much of today’s music.
Jimi Hendrix’s popularity seems to know no bounds, and is still as vibrant as ever with many guitar players citing him as their main influence. His performances around the world are often remembered as legendary and he is considered to be the best ever live performer.
Both the documentary and the live album will be released in 2011.
