In a recent interview with NME, Manic Street Preacher’s bass player Nicky Wire, expressed with clarity that the band had made their ‘Abby Road’, and that from here on in everything else was the, ‘White Album’.

In essence the interview talked about the bands relentless touring schedule and how at 41, it has begun to catch up with the band. The Manics have released three albums in the last four years, and have toured with every one. There last tour saw the band’s front man go down with laryngitis.

However much the trials and tribulations of the band’s rock and roll lifestyle have caught up with them, Wire talked about the next album which has been entitled, “70 Songs of Hatred and Failure”. He described it as a departure from the last album “Postcards From a Young Man”, which was ‘melodic’ and ‘commercial’, and insisted that this album would be ‘pure self-indulgence’.

This album will be the band’s 12th studio effort. Currently no official release date has been assigned for it. The full Nicky Wire interview can be read on the NME website. If you are a fan of the Manics, it is worth a read.
