Bringing a refreshing level of sophistication onto the radar this week is the new single from Modul Kollektiv, a deep house producer hailing from Germany. If you’re familiar with Dutch label Be Yourself Music (Sensation’s 2014 compilation was released through them), then it’s time to discover Dirty Soul Recordings, one of their sub labels. For their newest release, which dropped on Monday, they have recruited the talented Modul, who has in turn produced “Farbenfroh.”

“Farbenfroh” is a mellow yet progressive piece of music, and one that reveals new depths with every listen. Strong ripples of electronic waves billow throughout the six minutes that it develops over, and soft moans of vocals are folded over the top. What keeps this interesting is the strength of the bass line that keeps the tune alive, a firm reminder of Modul Kollektiv’s versatility and ease of production.
