£50 face value Katy Perry ticket sells for under a fiver
Tickets for Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus are amongst the biggest concert bargains of 2014, according to data from ticket marketplace Seatwave.
The greatest saving was made by one fan who paid £4.90 for a Katy Perry ticket, which had the face value of £50 – 90% off the original value.
This year has seen Miley Cyrus tickets originally priced at £50 sell for £19 (62% off face value), Taylor Swift tickets originally priced £45 sell for £5 (89% of face value) and £100 Justin Timberlake tickets go for £15. On average, tickets for the artists listed below sold for 79% below face value.
The dramatic drops in the resell price of the tickets despite the relative popularity of the artists perhaps suggests that concert promoters are pricing tickets too high for teenage fans.

A spokesperson for Seatwave commented: “We all know how much some people are willing to sacrifice for a chance to see their favourite artists live, however, this data shows that tickets for some of the most popular live acts in the world can be picked up for a song.”
