Award-Winning LA Band, THE MAZARINES - International iPhone Film Festival Finalist for Best Video Use iPhone
- in Latest
The duo’s debut CD is crafted with a range of new and underground influences, shrouded in an aura of mystery, yet staying true to their simple, classic roots.
THE MAZARINES’ video “Summer Wine” placed second at the International iPhone Film Festival 2014.
The black and white music video was shot entirely on an iPhone 5s and encapsulates the band’s 60’s throwback essence and ethereal sound.
In a recent interview, singer, Renee Faia, who also directed the video, told Variety magazine that she felt filming on the iPhone gave her and bandmate/producer, Gregg Stewart full control of the story they were able to craft both musically and visually. “We were able to have creative control of the images you see with our music and the iPhone gave us the ability to be both spontaneous and inconspicuous,” said Faia, who has directed four additional videos for the band.
Creativity comes naturally for Faia and Stewart, as both juggle multiple creative outlets. Stewart writes and produces for multiple artists while Faia is an accomplished film and television actor and voice over artist.
THE MAZARINES debut ep is now available on iTunes and has also recently added to Pandora’s music catalog.
