The odds of Wagner winning the X-Factor have been slashed by bookmakers, who feel the Brazilian is one step nearer the prize week on week.

Never one to be out of the spotlight, Wagner has been in the press for being romantically linked to another contestant, making in appropriate gestures and comments to X-Factor crew, being the recipient of Matt Cardles’ insults, and for making comments about Cheryl Cole’s origins. All of which seem to have made the Brazilian more and more popular.

Though it is clear he is not a competent singer, it is clear that the man can entertain. Many factors govern the viewers’ choices on entertainment shows, with Ann Widdecombe’s continued survival on Strictly Come Dancing proving that fact once and for all.
