Following Cheryl Cole’s outburst at Wagner last week about reports that he said, “just a girl from a council estate that got lucky,” it appears the Brazilian finalist had tried to explain the situation prior to appearing on the show.

Cheryl Cole however did not want to speak to the finalist, saying she was changing after he knocked on her dressing room door. Whether she was or was not is now academic, as she publicly questioned Wagner after his performance on Saturday’s show.

Simon Cowell, is said to be furious at Cheryl for her actions, as he believes they should just stick to judging performances while in the public eye.

The incident also prompted a caller to speak to Cheryl Cole about it on the side – kick show Xtra Factor, whereby the caller asked directly, “do you not feel you acted unprofessionally?” A question, which Ms Cole answered “no”.

Wagner meanwhile has seen the odds of him winning the show slashed by bookmakers who feel that the man becomes more bullet proof week on week. Arguably, it is the derogatory comments like the ones from Ms Cole that has prompted the public to pledge their support to the Brazilian, and the general air of disdain that emanates from both the presenters and other contestants on the show.
