The collaborative music project known as Vferg has released their latest LP record, “Jam.” The album is composed of eight original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 25 minutes. It has been released on the Conglo independent music label without the financial or managerial support of corporate music companies. Wildly creative, instrumentally ingenious, and more colorful than a sunrise in a hall of mirrors, “Jam” is an album true audiophiles everywhere can (and probably should) get behind.

Vferg cites as main artistic influences Pharrell, N.E.R.D., Jimi Hendrix, and Outkast, but the results of the group's collaborations far exceed the insight this small revelation can provide. While the name of the band is that of their bandleader, Vferg, their sound is a moving, shifting thing which depends on the persons involved at the time; hence, the title of their record.

In addition to the considerable talents of Vferg, himself, “Jam” (often stylized 'JAM') also incorporates the skills of such artists as Kellindo Parker, Freddy Fuego, Ava Raiin, Bradley Madsen, Compton Timberwolf, Sciryl Cooper, Paul-Anthony Surd, Jamilia Hall, George 2.0, Vicsun, Reginald Makerson, Richard Grant and Andy Baldwyn.

“'Jam' is titled that,” Jferg writes, “because it is the product of spontaneous musical experiences with great artists and singers. Most of my produced songs are the result of some kind of jam session and shared energy with friends and musicians in the moment.”

This, Vferg goes on to explain, is the modus operandi of the record in whole.

“'Jam' is a 'Creative Public Offering,'” writes Jferg. “My platform is one that aims to feel like a produced version of an open mic. A synergy between production and lyrics. I aim to inspire people to create and share their own Creative Public Offering.”

Though Vferg is a man unafraid to use his college vocabulary, he's a humble musician with a humanist's philosophy about the music he makes and how he makes it.

He writes of this, “I am just a guy that wanted to make music and share. I can't even read music. But as soon as I touch an instrument, I create with rapid velocity. I attract the energy and expertise of pro musicians and performers and we make audio magic.”

Neither is his music simply meant for music's sake, either. Vferg notes that music has properties people sometimes don't recognize. The songs on “Jam” are intended to do more than merely get people grooving.

“This music is healing music, too,” he writes, “because the songs are meant to remove you from the anxiety of daily life and provide you a with a creative adventure. [I call it] Music for Living.”

“Jam” by Vferg and company is available online worldwide. Get in early.
