Hobart Ocean: Fresh Off Their High School Tour And Opening Slots For Pop Star Aaron Carter

LOS ANGELES - Back in L.A. after a four-date stint opening for pop star Aaron Carter, Hobart Ocean (www.hobartocean.com) celebrates the official video release for their debut single "Another Heartbreak" to thousands of patrons strolling through L.A.'s famed Universal CityWalk, who will be treated to the infectious song as its dynamic new video plays on the Jumbotron overhead. The band, which beat out over 150 other acts in a contest to secure a regular performance slot at Citywalk, has upcoming shows December 13 and 18.

CityWalk is one of L.A.'s premiere entertainment and shopping destinations, located adjacent to Universal Studios. Stewart Irel, Manager of Citywalk Entertainment, NBC Universal was one of the executives who opened the door to these performances after the group's successful audition.

An acoustic version of "Another Heartbreak," which is set for digital release January 5, 2015, is now available for pre-order on iTunes and Google Play.

The high-energy four piece rock band - who has also opened up for rising pop group Heffron Drive (featuring lead singer Kendall Schmidt formerly of Big Time Rush) - is also emerging on pop stations across the country with "Another Heartbreak."

Jay Hu, a onetime marketing manager at Jive Records who is now Managing Director of Swift Endeavor, was hanging out with some colleagues at CityWalk when one of them walked over to hear Hobart Ocean as the band dug into Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle." Not long after, his label signed the band and has made them one of their flagship artists.

The band also continues their Southern California High School tour with performances at Artesia High in Lakewood December 15, and Savanna High in Anaheim December 19.


Hobart Ocean is staying connected with their burgeoning fan base with the release of dynamic, multi-faceted new iPhone and Google Play Apps.

The highly functional, sleekly designed free apps feature the latest news, audio music tracks (including "Another Heartbreak"), performance and personal band photos, videos, schedule of upcoming live performances, a "Fan Wall" for fan postings and interaction and links to all of Hobart Ocean's social media sites.

Fans who subscribe to the mailer's list in the app will receive details about Hobart Ocean's Monthly App Rewards Program, in which the top three monthly App users determined by points earned will have the opportunity to win a prize. An App user is only allowed to win a first place prize once every twelve months. The App Rewards Program officially kicked off November 2014 and the prizes - including an iPhone 6 - will be awarded this month.

The band will also perform at a private holiday showcase benefitting Toys for Tots, presented by UCLA-NUS Gembra Alumni on Saturday, December 6.
