Successful singer Lily Allen, was outraged by comments made by Katie Nicholl in her column. The columnist wrote that the star would be marrying due to loosing her unborn child.  "They realized through their grief that they absolutely adore one another and cannot live without each other".

This infuriated Lily Allen, who responded with criticism and personal insult via Twitter. "Katie Nicholl you're a lying c***, leave me out of your s**tty column, you know nothing. I'm sorry, but there's a time and a place for disrespectful, badly researched or just made up journalism. It's not now Katie Nicholl."

The star tweeted again after Katie Nicholl’s lawyers threatened to sue. "Kati Nichol (sic) has been in touch and has threatened to consult her lawyer if i don't take that tweet down. She thinks it was too heavy handed. So i'll amend it. Katie Nicholl I THINK you're a c***, leave me out of your sh**ty column, you know nothing about the intimate details of my life. There's a time and a place for your musings where i'm concerned, and it's not now."

The singer recently suffered a miscarriage and was treated for septicaemia as a result.
