The power of social media is incredible today. A combination of Youtube and Facebook can set new trends, leading to a whole new type of 'internet celebrities' being born. Musicians and actors are becoming famous through a whole new type of platform.

Now anyone can become a star.

This weeks race to the UK's number one has included the giants of One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and X-Factor winner Ben Haenow. However, despite multimillion pound industries and the famous names, a builder named Gordon Hill was able to invade the charts. He reached an official number 5 position. Named the 'Wealdstone Raider', the 5ft 1 internet sensation threatened Simon Cowells X-Factor winner Ben Haenow.

giveThe Wealdstone Raider gained popularity some months ago when a comical video was released of him at a football match under the influence of alcohol. He was heckling rival fans at a Wealdstone football club match, in which he is an avid supporter.

In an alcohol fuelled rage, Gordon Hill AKA 'Wealdstone Raider' released a barrage of abuse on a rival fan. He said:

"What you want some? You want some? You want some or what? You want some or what? You're playing SH*T cuz you got NO fans, and you're a load a w*nkers. If you want some, I'll give it ya. You wanna do it mate?"

The other fan remained calm throughout the outburst.

The comical nature of the video was instantly recognised when the video was uploaded to Youtube. Since then it has racked over 6 million views and people have been spreading the phrases "You want some?" and "you got no fans" across social media sites.

After the Wealdstone Raiders initial popularity, he has become a recognized figure in the street. This then prompted him to record a charity song in the run up to Christmas. Newspapers and the media soon jumped on the campaign to boost him to the official number one spot.

In a nutshell, the Wealdstone Raider was able to dominate the charts and gain fame, from a drunken outburst of abuse recorded at a local football match. In addition, he has no music skill either. Any budding artist or musician trying to gain recognition, may feel red in the face with anger at this! At least the Wealdstone Raider is doing the song for charity.
