New York, NY, February 18 -- MRKT Music, a new record label and label services provider has officially opened for business. Founded by music industry veteran Adam Wacht, MRKT Music will offer many different ways for artists to release and promote their works while maintaining their freedom.

Starting today, any independent musician can easily sign up for a streaming package through MRKT to place their music on all the major streaming services including Spotify, Beats Music, Pandora, Google Play, YouTube Music Key and more. Traditional physical and digital distribution will also be available, and artists will be able to hire label marketing, promotional and sync licensing services through MRKT's strategic partners at pre-negotiated preferred rates, either individually or bundled. Each artist will be given a virtual dashboard via MRKT’s website where they can track their progress and stats – including breakdowns of streaming and accounting – which will also be accessible by a dedicated “Manager in a Box” app.

MRKT’s physical distribution partner is Sumthing Distribution, the brainchild of legendary, Grammy-winning artist and producer Nile Rodgers (Chic, Daft Punk) who’s had a hand in records that have sold 100+ million combined.

MRKT will open flagship offices in New York City later this year preceded by operational satellite offices around the country.

about Adam Wacht

Adam’s diverse 20-year music career began as Writer, Producer and Guitarist of the band Trouble Tribe, signed to Chrysalis Records which recorded two albums and toured the world. Following the band’s demise he produced artists for legendary labels Sire and I.R.S., and served as a hired gun playing guitar and co-writing with Jon Waite, Bad Company, Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe and many others.

Moving into booking and management with an offer from ICM (International Creative Management) Adam worked with Willie Nelson, Cheap Trick and Bryan Adams and also placed ICM’s artists in movies, TV and soundtracks.

He then formed Adam Wacht Management where he discovered Brian Howes, a now top rock/pop writer/producer (Chris Cornell, Daughtry, Simple Plan) jumpstarting his career by getting his band Closure signed to TVT Records. His development of Howes caught the eye of Sam Feldman (manager of Norah Jones and Elvis Costello) who recruited him to manage developing artists at Macklam/Feldman Management.

Realizing the old music business model has quickly been going the way of the dinosaurs, Adam now takes his wealth of industry experience to launch MRKT Music and help guide the modern independent musician to success on their own terms.
