The Detroit Music Awards Foundation (DMAF) announced on March 6th that Bulletproof Snow (BPS) was selected for participation in their annual “People’s Choice Award” competition. This is a select opportunity where (1) of (20) artists will prevail and take home the People’s Choice Award at the 24th annual DMA event on April 10, 2014 in Detroit at The Fillmore.
BPS was also nominated to the final ballot of the 2015 DMA's for Best Rock Artist, Best Rock Song (Here We Come), and Best Rock Vocalist (Trey McLaughlin). Modeled after the Grammy's, only music industry people can vote for DMA final ballot catgories, while voting for the People's Choice Award is open to the public through April 5th. Votes for the PCA are cast by downloading the track via a media player on the DMAF website and fans are allowed (1) vote per artist per day.
A (4) piece teen rock band that began in 2012 in Hartland, MI BPS is quickly gaining visibility both locally and nationally. Winning a performance spot in the Rockstar UPROAR festival at DTE Energy Music Theatre in August 2013, and playing showcases in March 2014 in Austin TX during the SXSW music festival, BPS was also nominated among the top 5 artists in (2) categories at the 2014 Detroit Music Awards.
Here We Come is the title track from the 6-track EP of the same name that BPS released in June 2014. Excited about their new release, and their DMA nominations, these high school students are looking forward to another exciting summer, that will include select tour dates in the East and Midwest.
