Indie Anthems Mixtape Curates 20 Artists That Should Have Played SXSW

IndieAnthemsVol.10Released as a private digital download card to the attendees during last week’s SXSW Music Festival, the Indie Anthems mixtape touts the creme de la creme of the unsigned and indie talent pool-talent that was noticeably absent from the festivals stages, but managed to gain new listeners just the same.

WiFi PR Group released Indie Anthems Vol. 10, the latest installment in their respected unsigned and indie curated  digital mixtape series. The limited edition free download was distributed during SXSW as a private download for festival-goers to premiere. before it was released to the public.

The lineup packs an eclectic mix of fresh sounds in hip-hop, indie, rock, urban, electronica and more. It’s a who’s Who list of all the independent and unsigned bands that are considered next level deal worthy but were ironically missing from this years SXSW stages, held last week in Austin, TX from March 16-23. The event draws over 150,000 people from all over the world and while thousands of Indie Anthems Vol. 10 download cards were handed out during SXSW, WiFi PR expects that  even more new listeners will come from post SXSW coverage on Indie Anthems, following the event.

The potential of a digital mixtape series makes it possible for artists, like the ones that appear on Indie Anthems Vol.10, to attract new listeners from SXSW without actually performing there. While none of the artists on the mixtape performed at SXSW this year, the mixtape connects them to its audience. When music fans and industry tastemakers look for new artists to add to their rosters and playlists, they often turn to recommendations and industry-curated playlists to find up-and-coming artists gaining recognition by the media and record labels.

While most mixtapes, particularly for independent artists, are created for music fans alone, WiFi PR curates the Indie Anthems series to fit the agendas of industry veterans and millennial content creators, who typically license independent music. Between YouTube, music streaming services, blogs and other streaming content,  the amount of music available overwhelms music lovers, content creators and experts, and it can be difficult to wade through it all . Indie Anthems Vol. 10  solves that problem with a line up that delivers fresh talent—the kind of talent that belongs on the big stage.

Indie Anthems Vol. 10 is now available as a limited edition free download on its Bandcamp page, but only 2000 download copies are available for a limited time.

WiFi PR will release more Indie Anthems additions throughout the year, including upcoming volumes set to be released during Coachella and Lollapalooza in August. Past iterations of Indie Anthems can be found on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.
