Biffy Clryo Find Matt Cardle’s Version of Their Song Funny
- in Latest
Scottish Rockers Biffy Clryo have given a reaction to Matt Cardle’s version of their song, stating, “It’s an X - Factor Version of the song”, with drummer Ben Johnston saying, "The whole thing’s a bit surreal, we think it's all quite funny."
Biffy Clyro’s original is entitled ‘Many Of Horror’, and the song is currently riding high in the UK singles chart. The tune is one of the songs that people who are disgruntled with the X – Factor are touting for Christmas number one in a bid to emulate Rage Against the Machine’s Christmas number one coup last year.
Currently, the band are supporting Muse in Australia, and up until now gave little comment on Matt Cardle’s version.
Ben Johnston, "Britain’s a small place. Everybody knows everybody, certainly in something like the music industry. He [Cowell] said it was a great song and he [Cardle] should use it."
This throws a little light on the nature of Simon Cowell’s record collection. The nature of the music that X – Factor contestants release is one that is normally of the pop, disposable music genre. Simon Cowell’s record collection however, does not seem to reflect the nature of the music his record label releases.
Matt Cardle’s version of the Biffy Clryo track, is almost certainly to be number one.
