There can be no doubt that 2010 belongs to Kanye West. His brilliant and enigmatically entitled, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which has sold and continues to sell by the truck load.

Perhaps what is most remarkable about West, is that by sticking to his guns he has come out of 2010 as a hero when, following the Taylor Swift incident, he entered the year very much as a villain.

The singer’s Tweets rapidly gained cult status as did the first track since becoming somewhat of a recluse. The song “Power”, came to be leaked on the net, and it featured a snarling performance followed by a quality appearance on the BET Awards. This very much signalled that Kayne West was back in the game.

Only he did not come back into the game, he dominated it. Though his tweets, his tantrums often made the headlines, it was the man’s music that did most of the talking for the rapper, and that is something truly remarkable.

In his own way, he has taken a stand like the MTV News’ woman of the year, Lady GAGA, just he did it a different way.

It is perhaps worth noting, that as pop stars are very much factory produced, it takes a defect in the production line to make something noteworthy.
