Rock legend Steven Tyler made his first appearance on American Idol. The rock god from Aerosmith seems to have tamed his wild lifestyle down to judge a mainstream popular music show.

Sat next to Jenifer Lopez on the judging panel, Tyler seems to fit in quite well. Who would of thought that the likes of these musicians would end up judging what could be classed as a 'cheesy' television show together.

Not knocking the show though, American Idol is massive and pulled in a staggering 24 million viewers on last seasons finals. With Simon Cowell leaving last season, the producers Fox had to pull some special stars out the bag.

It seems Tyler is going to be a very honest judge going of the first showing. Stating straight to the point comments and not worried to offend. In total contrast, J-LO will find this much harder giving an angel like approach.
