New U2 Album Release for May?
- in Latest
Irish rockers U2 could well be releasing their latest album on May 27 as a German retail site that has listed the album provokes release date rumours.
There has been no official word from the U2 camp as to when the album will be out, however the German version of the Amazon online retailer, Amazon.de, has already listed the release date for the bands new album as being May 27.
A spokesman for U2 told NME: “As has been widely reported U2 are in the studio working on a new record but no release date has been set.”
Last year it had been reported that the band would offer up a new album for fans out in early 2011 while Bono has also previously said that he and the band had been working on new songs for the album with production by Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton.
In 2009, after the release of “No Line On The Horizon” Bono revealed that the Irish foursome had also made another album at the same time entitled “Songs Of Ascent”, an album which has never seen the light of day.
It is not known if the new album will be containing tracks from “Songs Of Ascent” or will instead be featuring all new material from the band.
