Cheryl Cole's music is “Crap” says Elton John
- in Latest
Sir Elton John has launched a tirade of criticism against many top celebrities and the UK music scene, including Cheryl Cole, during an interview with “The Word” magazine.
The 63 year old musical icon famed for legendary songs such as “Rocket Man” and “Candle in the Wind” has said that he considers British pop music to be “the worst”.
“It's all just awful,” he said “It could have been made by anybody. All lip-synchers should be shot. Only drag queens are allowed to lip-synch.”
Nobody was safe from Sir Elton who continued: “Go and see “Take That” or “Westlife” and how much of that is live? I know Gary Barlow can sing – that solves one. I think they genuinely do sing their stuff but 99% of the other ******* Herberts out there can't sing a note.”
Some of the harshest criticism fell at the door of Cheryl Cole and British girl band “The Saturdays”.
He said: “It's hard to tell “Girls Aloud” from “The Saturdays”. And then there's Cheryl Cole...It's all crap.”
Elton John, who is currently working on the promotion of the film “Gnomeo and Juliet” which he made the music for added to his hit list when asked about what he thought about the reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”.
“Who the **** is Kim Kardashian? Some stupid old tart from somewhere or another?”
While there were many in for the sharp tongue of Sir Elton he did have some kind words to say about rapper Eminem claiming that they “have a laugh” together while he also had praise for albums that he says include “musicianship” adding that “when you put a bunch of musicians in a room together there's human soul, there's magic in there. That's not happening now.”
