The Growth of Electronic Music Group 'Ordinary People' Consisting of Sergey Bezhinets
- in Latest
Ordinary People is electronic music group originally consisting of Sergey Bezhinets (the only permanent member). Sergey Bezhinets moved to Portland, Oregon in 1995. Sergey founded Ordinary People in 2014 to experiment with techno, drum and bass, jazz, industrial, ambient and symphonic music. Ordinary People has released 15 albums since then.
The band incorporates guitars, synthesizers, drum machines and electronic drums as primary instruments. Probably the main challenge for the Ordinary People is to get away and stay away from the sound clichés.
Another challenge was to create descriptive music that does not need words. Ordinary People see music more as philosophy than just entertainment. It is noticeable in such compositions as Descending from the album “Descending”, Jonathan Livingston Seagull from the album “Secrets”, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik from the album “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”, Riding White Unicorn Trough The Dark Forest from the album “The Pulse”, Last Light from the album “Metamorphosis”, Strange Creatures from the album “Hero of the Doom”, Floating from the album “Floating”, Mysterious Influences from the album “Introspective”. The band released the albums under electronic style but only due to publishing limitations.
Obviously the band’s style is new direction, something like alternative electronic style. Sergey was influenced by such groups and musicians as early Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, Eloy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jean Michel Jarre, Front Line Assembly, The Doors, Depeche Mode.
