Brit Awards attract big names

The latest award show of the season saw musical greats from the UK and across the pond both performing and picking up accolades in a show which was watched by 4.8 million viewers.
Big winner of the evening was the hotly tipped performers Tinie Tempah, who won an award for Best British Breakthrough Act and Best Single for his track “Pass Out.”
Tinie Tempah, whose real name is the less catchy Patrick Okogwu, said: “I want to big up God and my family for sticking by me when times are hard.”
He added: “I am going to get really messed up and everyone here is invited!”
After the show he spoke about his plans to go down to “B&Q” to buy a plank of wood to make a shelf for his two awards. “Someone said if you win more than one you should put up a shelf,” he said.
Meanwhile, British manband Take That were also winners on the night as they picked up the award for Best British Group at the Brits.
All five original members of the band were present at the awards ceremony with them being given the honour of opening the proceeding with a performance of their new single “Kidz”.
On accepting the award, band member Mark gestured to returning member, Robbie Williams, and said: “Can I say thanks for coming back mate. Appreciate it.”
Gary Barlow later said: “It's incredible. Obviously there has been a big change for us in band members and to win best band was amazing.”
Other winners on the night included Mumford and Sons who took away the award for album of the year for “Sign No More”, Plan B, who won Best British Male Solo Artist and Laura Marling who was crowned Best British Female Solo Artist.
