Organisers of this ears Download Festival have announced that Linkin park and Def Leppard will be headlining acts at the festival to take place at Donington Park to take place between June 10 and June 13.

Def Leppard, the most famous rockers from Sheffield have become the latest act to be confirmed for the festival which has already announced that Linkin Park and System Of A Down will be making up part of the festival line up this year.

Other bands to take to the stages include a varied and mixed range of bands from Bullet For My Valentine to Frank Turner and Pendulum.

This is not the first time that Def Leppard have entertained the crowds at the Download Festival, back in 2009 the band were the headlining act on the Sunday evening treating fans to a selection of some of their greatest hits in their set.

The crowds ended up being wowed by the band who hadn't played at a festival since their heyday in the 1980's bringing with them their own highly impressive stage set and seeing drummer Rick Allen making a return to the stage especially for the concert after losing his arm in a car crash.

Joe Elliot of Def Leppard said: “It'll be a quarter of a century since we first played at Donington and we're coming back to headline twice in three years. It was incredible in 2009 – there was a great vibe backstage and out front too. We have so much fun doing this.”

Last year the festival welcomed big name acts including Rage Against The Machine, AC DC and Aerosmith and it is hoped that the success of the past can be emulated once again this year at the festival.
