Kanye West video could cause fits

US music star Kanye West may need to modify his latest video after experts claim the it contains clips that could induce epileptic seizures.
The “All of the Lights” video features a series of flashing images at the start of the song that have caused members of the Epilepsy Action charity to speak out about possible fits that could be induced by the clip.
Technology for Cambridge Research Systems was used by Epilepsy Action to analyse the frequency of the flashing with the results revealing that they exceeded the level that is usually considered to be safe.
The charity has contacted the Kanye West team and YouTube to urge them to consider placing a warning at the start of the video.
Aimee Gee from Epilepsy Action said: “We are deply concerned that this video may be harmful to some people with photosensitive epilepsy. We are doing all we can to warn people who may be affected not to watch it.”
She added: “It has already received millions of hits on YouTube so we feel it is unfortunately very likely that people may have already been affected.”
Already the “All of the Lights” clip which also features “Umbrella” star Rihanna, has had nearly five million hits on YouTube and is shaping up to be one of the biggest hits of Kanye West's career.
Regulations set out by Ofcom state that the video should not be shown on UK television, however there are not similar rules when it comes to showing videos on the internet.
Meanwhile, the video has caused further controversy as it has been accused of copying a French film “Enter The Void”.
The flashing sequence shows text spelling out the lyrics of the song which is considered to be very similar to the opening scenes in the French film directed by Gaspar Noe.
Critic Linda Sharp said: “Either it's a deliberate homage to the film, or...maybe nobody thought Kanye's fans would know anything about relatively obscure French melodramas. Hard to say.”
