Over the weekend at a San Francisco Bay Area based recording studio, the recent multi-award-winning Americana singer/songwriter Katie Garibaldi announced on her social media that she has begun recording an all-originals Christmas album, Home Sweet Christmas, due out this holiday season! 

 

The melodic and folky songwriter first began hinting about the album as a possibility with the release of her single, "Tomorrow is Christmas Morning," an original song about yearning to make it home in time for the magic of Christmas morning, in November of 2016. Celebrated Christmas blog "Merry & Bright!" called "Tomorrow is Christmas Morning" a "very well-written and performed song" and said, "Katie sweetly brings together the imagery of the Christmas season and the space between the singer and her love with the importance of Christmas Morning...Katie has hinted that this is merely a preview for a full-length Christmas album coming in 2017. That's a Christmas wish that I hope comes true." 

 

Fans will not only be granted this wish, but can expect some big surprises from Katie Garibaldi's new Christmas release as well. "I've always wanted to record a Christmas album, but I was waiting for the inspiration to find me so that I could make something really special since the holiday is something close to my heart," explains Garibaldi. "I originally thought about recording a few classic songs, but I just kept writing and it turned into an all-originals album, which I'm really excited about sharing. This is the creative fire I was waiting for. Some songs are stylistically way outside of my box so it's really thrilling for me to be in the studio right now and bring these babies to life. I kind of can't wait to shock some people!" 

 

Since last holiday's release of "Tomorrow is Christmas Morning," Katie Garibaldi's music video "Delightful" off her latest EP Rooted Clarity has taken the international independent film festival market by storm, garnering over 20 winning film awards for Best Music Video. The indie artist was also featured on Acoustic Guitar Magazine's "Acoustic Guitar Sessions" with a live performance video sharing her songs and the stories behind them.
