The V festival has become the latest summer festival event to announce big name acts to take to the stage with Eminem, the Arctic Monkeys and Rihanna all confirmed as taking part in the upcoming V Festival later this year.

Also on the billing for the festival are Dizzee Rascal, The Script, Brit award favourites Tinie Tempah, Plan B and Jessie J and US bad boy Bruno Mars.

For a touch of the old skool there will also be performances from Duran Duran and Primal Scream.

Danny O'Donoghue from the Irish band The Script said: “V Festival was our first ever UK show three years ago. it was a baptism of fire but we survived it. We love to play V – it's a real party for both festival-goer and bands. We can't wait for it.”

Festival director Bob Angus said: “The breadth of accomplished talent performing throughout the weekend on the other stages is also something that we are very proud of, with heavyweight acts including Dizzee Rascal, Razorlight, Chase and Status and Duran Duran joining the party.”

The festival will be taking place in two locations in Chelmsford and Staffordshire on August 20 and 21 with bands taking to the stage in both venues.

This ear the organisers are also hoping to ad a touch of luxury to the usually rather dirty experience of visiting a festival with “V Style” including pop up hotel rooms for guests not content with the tent.

Simon Moran, the festival director said: “It's fantastic to be able to introduce V Style this year. We hope that the lure of luxury camping will add that little extra something for music fans who love live performances and a festival atmosphere, but aren't always as keen on roughing it.”

Tickets for the V Festival will be going on sale this Friday from 9am.
