Swedish pop sensation Maja Francis has enlisted London’s Shura on remix duties for her latest single ‘Saved By The Summer’, out now through Universal Music.

Shura pulls down the tempo of the glorious electro-pop original to create a twisted piece of atmospheric electronica. Shura incorporates trap beats and dark bass under Maja’s soaring warped vocals before switching to breakbeats and trance inducing synths to close the track.

Regarding the remix Maja says, I love Shura and now she’s made a remix version of my song where it ends differently and darker. I was never saved by the summer in this one…”

‘Saved By The Summer’ was released last year to great support from the likes of ELLE and TMRW, with the latter describing the single, As an electro-pop anthem, there’s a cutesy tint that rubs off in the best possible way. Treading a neon path whilst wearing her heart on her sleeve, it’s a glorious display of soaring harmonies and a vocal that quite simply, glimmers. You’ll be basking in the warmth of a forgotten few months, carefree once more.”

With the release of the Shura ‘Saved By The Summer’ remix, Maja has announced the first in a two part Cry Baby EP series. Cry Baby Pt.1 is released on March 23rd through Universal.

‘Saved By The Summer’ features on the forthcoming EP, which follows the release of Maja’s tearaway debut EP Come Companion in 2016. That EP has clocked up well over 5 million streams on Spotify and has seen Maja achieve high profile acclaim from the likes of Noisey, Popjustice, NYLON, Stereogum, Clash, Line Of Best Fit, The 405 and many more.

More recently Maja was the voice behind Kygo’s latest hit ‘Kids In Love’, while she has also been playing with the likes of Tove Lo, Seinabo Sey, First Aid Kit and has had her music featured within the Teen Wolf series.

On the forthcoming Cry Baby series Maja says, “Cry Baby is a tribute to feelings. It’s about wearing them like a tiara, never having to apologize for being ”too much” or ”too emotional”.
In my Cry Baby world, it’s ok not to be ok, or to be ok one minute and not the next. By releasing these EPs I’m celebrating the beauty of being fragile, of being a mess, being broken, feeling sad, jealous, angry, lost or just different. I’m reminding myself and others that all feelings are temporary, like a cycle, or like the seasons, you feel, your break, your grow, you shine.”
