Def Leppard back on the road

Rockers Def Leppard are aiming to introduce an entirely new generation to their music with their latest album and tour.

After 34 years in the industry this will be the first live album released by the band and followers recent live success which has brought them firmly back into the rock and roll limelight.

Singer Joe Elliott told Reuters: “It's the first time we've taken stock of what we've done and delivered the live album fans have been asking for, for years.”

This year the band will be taking to the road with their first concert to be in Belfast on June 7 followed by a massive 42 shows in America and the group claim that they have reached their peak claiming that “we couldn't sing back then”.

The live album “MirrorBall” also includes three studio tracks for fans looking for something new and is due to be out on general release before the tour.

Meanwhile, new fans of Def Leppard will be able to download the new “Mirrorball” album from the iTunes store. As to whether the back catalogue of the band, including their huge selling albums of “Pyromania” and “Hysteria”, will be available the band is yet to strike a final deal with Apple.

Joe Elliott joked: “If they give us a poster the same size as the Beatles got, the yeah,” he said paying reference to the several storey high poster of the Beatles which was unveiled in Manhattan after the bands back catalogue deal was finalised.
