Stet Howland, the drummer for Metal Church, has recently married in what could be the most rock and roll wedding of the year. A professional musician since the age of 13, Stet has played in numerous bands since 1987,

with a prolonged spell in W.A.S.P. His other claims to fame include drumming for Lynrd Skynrd, Blackfoot and Lita Ford.

Unfortunately, his successful career has been curtailed by an unexpected diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer.  Now in remission, following six months of intensive treatment, Stet has finally felt well enough to marry the love of his life, Heidi, who has supported him throughout this challenging period.

Before the wedding, Stet gave this heartfelt quote “I thank you all for the incredible love and support. My wife to be Heidi saved my life at the onset of this nightmare and remains in my corner ‘til this day”.

As if this wasn’t an actual rock and roll fairy story, an added twist reveals that the officiant was Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson. Contrary to everything associated with heavy metal, Dave is a committed Christian and a Lutheran pastor with full authority to officiate at weddings.

He is a stalwart of the Christian music scene and often plays at the MEGA Life Ministries worship service in Scottsdale.

The marriage took place at the Plaza Hotel and Casino ballroom in Las Vegas, with guests enjoying a rock star experience. Evening entertainment was provided by Bite The Bullet and Sin Circus, keeping Stet and Heidi rocking until the early hours.

Stet described his marriage, confirming that “Our wedding invitations were mock concert tickets, our wedding programs were VIP laminates, and our cake stands were custom DW drums”.
