It looks like festival goers in Ireland will be in for a treat this year as ig name acts have been announced as taking part in the upcoming Oxygen 2011 festival.
Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl, hosted a presentation of the acts to take part in an online broadcast at www.oxegen.ie and took the opportunity to declare the festival line up as being a “fans favourites feast of talent”.
The Foo Fighters were of course revealed to be one of the acts for the festival which will be taking place between July 8 and 10 at the Punchestown Racecourse while festival favourites Coldplay and US big hitters the Black Eyed Peas were also confirmed as being on the billing.
Other popular acts to take to the stage included Brit Award darlings Tinie Tempah and Plan B and Scottish singer Paulo Nutini.
This will be the first time that Coldplay will play at the festival before they head off to join U2 as headlining acts at the Glastonbury festival later in the summer.
Festival director John Probyn said: “We have pulled out all the stops to deliver this A-list line up. Some of these bands won't be back playing Ireland for quite some time, which is going to make their appearances all the more special.”
Fan favourites, The Arctic Monkeys, have been put on the bill after they topped a fans wish list chart while there are a host of other big name stars also confirmed including chart topper Bruno Mars, singer Brandon Flowers and Liam Gallagher's latest musical project Beady Eye will also be making an appearance at the summer festival.
Tickets for the festival have already gone on sale and with such a strong line up, they are expected to sell out fast.
