New Rock Music Releases for May 2018 Include Richie Sambora, Paul McCartney & Bruce Springsteen

Rock fans will be delighted with the upcoming releases planned for May 2018, featuring some of the most significant stars from past and present.

Eagerly awaited, the new project from Richie Sambora sees his collaboration with Orianthi, releasing their first album together under the name RSO. Sambora is a former guitarist with rock legends Bon Jovi, while Orianthi may be best known for her part in a Michael Jackson documentary but has also performed with Alice Cooper, Prince and Steve Vai. The album is entitled “Radio Free America” and was produced by Bob Rock and has a guest appearance from Doors guitarist Robby Krieger.

Paul McCartney is set to issue four albums at once, all available on CD and vinyl, featuring two of his most recent records, a Wings compilation and an obscure lounge-jazz album.

The Eagles co-founder, Glenn Frey, has put together a new box set comprising of four discs that focus on his solo career. “Above The Clouds” offers plenty of material for collectors, and includes a DVD of his 1992 tour to support the release of his album “Strange Weather.”

Bruce Springsteen has a new vinyl box set,“The Album Collection Vol. 2, 1987 – 1996”, comprising of five LPs that feature music from the decade that made him a household name. The limited-edition, numbered collection also includes a 60-page book of photos and memorabilia.

The Steve Miller Band are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their recorded debut by issuing a vinyl box collection of their first nine albums.

 

Other artists releasing new albums in May include Jethro Tull, Jeff Beck, Brian Eno, Don Airey (Deep Purple) and Pink Floyd. Re-issues are also on the cards from Supertramp, Simon and Garfunkel and Cheap Trick.
