We all know that Justin Bieber has a very strong and loyal fan base however the police had to be called in Liverpool today (March 10) to deal with fans who had heard about the arrival of Justin Bieber at a hotel in the city.
It is reported that fifty police officers were required to for a human cordon to keep fans under control while the North West Ambulance service were forced to send out their Hazardous Area Response Team as the crowd became uncontrollable.
Some girls so overcome with Bieber fever were even admitted to the Alder Hey childrens hospital after they had fainted with the excitement of the possibility of glimpsing their idol.
In scenes that were reminiscent of Beatlemania the city became over run with Bieber fans as a rumour circulated stating that the teen pop star would be arrested for endangering public safety if he steeped out onto his balcony to address the crowds.
Via twitter Justin Bieber pleaded with his fans for calm.
He tweeted: “This is crazy. There are like thousands of people out there. Love everybody but gonna try and get some sleep. Please don's scream. Lol.”
The “Never Say Never” star is due to play at the Liverpool Echo Arena tomorrow but had checked into the hotel in the city early.
When he arrived at the hotel in the morning it wasn't long before fans were gathering outside with numbers growing after the school bell rang at 3pm.
A source from the hotel told The Telegraph: “Justin did intend to go on a Beatles tour of Liverpool but the situation with fans means he can't get out. We counted 50 police officers at one point. The screaming is loud it could make your ears bleed, At one point he twitched a curtain in his room and that caused a near riot.”
“Other guests are being very good about it and there have been no complaints. A lot of them have children so they know about Justin Bieber, and there is quite an air of excitement around the hotel. We have a lot of big names here but nobody ahs ever seen anything like this.”
