It looks like the saga of ho will be taking up the prestigious judges seats for the upcoming series of the US version of X factor my finally be over as it is reported that British star Cheryl Cole will not be one of the lucky recipients of the role.

After weeks of speculation it looks like the Girls Aloud star has finally been ruled out of the running for the much sought after job on the hit reality television show.

It is reported that the voice over man for the show Peter Dickson, revealed that Cheryl Cole has missed out on the multi million dollar contract while backstage at the filming of the Comic Relief show.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: “I think it's all in complete disarray. They have only just decided they are not going to have Cheryl on the panel.”

He added that he was yet to hear anything himself from Simon Cowell regarding the job as the voice over man for the show.

A spokesman for the US version of the X Factor has kept the mystery alive however by claiming that still no decision has been made as to the final line up, “Everyone is still talking,” said the spokesman, “Nothing has been decided.”

While officially Cheryl may still have a chance at being on the show recent comments made by Simon Cowell seem to say otherwise.

During a recent interview he said: “I have to make sure we have a lot of Americans working on the show to begin with. I've got to have people on the panel with me who can judge American talent because I am 51 years old, I'm British and we've got people as young as 14 entering this competition. This is an American competition for American contestants.”

With Cheryl Cole not being American this could certainly pose a problem to her hopes of joining the team stateside.
