Only seven days left until the big revealing of experimental dark-punk/funk duo Geniuser’s long-awaited album ‘I Am’. In the meantime, singer –bass-player Michael Allen and producer Giuseppe De Bellis teased their new opus’ artistic direction awhile back, with the release of their resonating single ‘Epiphany’. This was quickly followed by a music video, perfectly fitting the song’s message and mood.

Geniuser have said in previous interviews that their goal was to create art attacking all senses – and they truly delivered. In less than four minutes, the video, along with the song itself, offers you a real immersion in the disturbing, deranged but definitely captivating world of Geniuser. An abandoned warehouse, an absence of colour, and blurry images: the duo manages to install a feeling of uneasiness within seconds.

Every still raises loads of questions and interest, taking ‘Epiphany’ to a whole other level and almost providing a Kubrick’s Orange Clockwise vibe. We are here introduced to the band, dressed in all-black outfits and dementedly looking into your soul while performing – an unusual but innovative process to connect with your viewer.

And this is where artists’ talents can truly be measured: do they manage to touch their audience through their work? Do they make you feel physical things while being nowhere near you? It’s a big yes for Geniuser, whom we only want to see and hear more of.
