Smooth, seductive, star - Matthew Young has a voice that you will listen to on repeat. He's an RnB artist who is making his mark slowly but surely. No official website, nearly 3000 followers on SoundCloud and just over that number of likes on his official Facebook page his fan base is small, but loyal. He pulls influence from Prince and Michael Jackson and has also been applauded for his 80's inspired fashion.

His latest EP "Fruit" lists 7 tracks including his two released singles "Collect" and "Hey". While his genre is technically classed as RnB, he has a sound of his own. Creating a mixture of smooth baselines, melodic vocals, synth pads, organic sounds and other vocal samples - I would compare him to Aussie artist Troye Sivan who has been described as Dream Pop Genre. He is extremely emotive and because the tracks aren't over-produced, you can hear the integrity in his voice.

Matthew Young has just finishing touring his homeland NZ and is now heading across The Tasman to continue his tour in Australia. Prior to his own tour, he had performed as the opener for Lorde and Melodrama. If you're downunder you can catch him:
