Singer and songwriter Paolo Stante has released his latest LP blues-rock album, “At It Again.” The record contains nine original tracks and a Howlin’ Wolf cover for a total listening time of approx. 45 minutes. Like the rest of the Stante repertoire, “At It Again” has been proudly published on the Vision Records & Publishing Ltd. independent record label without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Bringing the traditional blues sound into the 21st century with groove, funk, soul and Stante's inimitable guitar stylings, “At It Again” exemplifies Stante's blues-rock status as a true titan for today.
Montreal's Paolo Stante cites as main artistic influences the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, the Allman Brothers, Buddy Guy, BB King, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker. His own sound marries the classic modes of Hooker, King and Guy with the distorted guitars and prominent drums of bands like the Stones and Zeppelin. The result has something likely to appeal to fans of modern or classic rock, modern or classic blues, or other genres altogether.
Paolo Stante has been playing rock music since the age of fifteen.
“My parents forced me to take piano lessons in grade school,” he writes. “Then I saw 'Back to the Future,' and I switched to guitar.”
Asked to describe the overall themes of his new “At It Again” LP, Stante says, “There is no particular message. The album is an expression of the emotions of life.”
Stante's previous records include “Man Out of Time” (2015), “One Way Back” (2013), and singles such as “4 Bases” and “Your Kind of Pain” (2014).
Paolo Stante has performed widely in Canada in such locales as Montreal, Quebec City, Trois-Rivières, Hull, Gatineau, Hudson, Saint-Anne de Bellevue, Ils Perrot, Beaconsfield, Pointe-Claire, Ottawa, Cornwall, Toronto, Alexandria, Brockville, Martin Town, Vankleek Hill in the Provinces of Quebec and Ontario, respectively, and many more.
“Playing blues rock allows me to get in touch with my innermost feelings,” writes Paolo Stante. “It takes me away from the drudges of everyday life.”
