Jeff Goldblum is not only a fantastic actor, but also great in the world of music. Anyone who knows of Jeff, will already realise that he has been active as a musician for quite some time.
As a teenager, he started performing in bars around Pittsburgh. Also, since 1990s, the famous actor has been performing with The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.
Now, it seems Jeff is going to showcase his music talent along with the band, in front of a London audience this fall. So what exactly is it all about?
November 17 is the date when Jeff Goldblum, and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra will be part of the EFG London jazz Festival, at the Cadogan Hall. This will also be an opportunity for the actor-musician, and his band to promote the release of their debut album.
A little bit more about the album that will be released later this year:
“Loose, improvised versions of jazz standards” is the describe used for Jeff Goldblum and his band playing on the album. Decca records is standing behind the release of their debut album, and its director of A&R Tom Lewis has nothing but positive comments about this:
Jeff himself also expressed his joy about this. Saying how happy he is working with the great team from Decca records, he also added: “one of the coolest and most prestigious labels of all time”.
Details on the events facebook page say:
They’re pretty relaxed onstage – Jeff makes sure his musicians and the audience have a good time together – it’s taken them 20 years to get to London for this special Festival show just ahead of their debut album later this year, so don’t miss this special encounter.
The event is on: 17 November, 19:30–22:30, Cadogan Hall, London. Tickets are available here: https://efglondonjazzfestival.org.uk/events/jeff-goldblum
As far as I can tell, everyone loves Jeff Goldblum. He’s a fantastic jazz pianist, a great band leader and just about the loveliest man in the world. His love of jazz is infectious and whenever he plays he makes you feel very happy. If we can take Jeff’s music into people’s homes then we will be helping, in our own small way, to make the world a happier place - Tom Lewis.
