The country musician from Down Under, Morgan Evans, has been a busy guy in recent weeks. Following the release of his hugely successful single, Kiss Somebody, in July this year, Evans has finally given fans what they’ve been begging for – his full-length album, Things That We Drink To.
The album, which has been in the making for the past 3 months, serves as Evans’ debut album with Warner Music Nashville/Warner Bros. Records. Having signed a record deal with the industry giant in May this year, Evans wasted no time in bringing his music to the masses.
Things That We Drink To consists of 11 highly personal tracks which were all co-written by Evans. “My album is a collection of songs that I wrote over the last two years. It’s my story. It’s leaving behind everything and everyone you know to chase down a country music dream on the other side of the world,” Evans explains.
His debut album will take listeners on a journey and give fans a glimpse of the world through Evans’ eyes. From taking chances to the emotional ups and downs of life – this album covers it all. “It’s the excitement of the unknown, it’s the fun, it’s the loneliness and it’s the struggle,” Evans says about the various tracks on the album. “It’s losing someone and finding the strength to keep your head up and make them proud. It’s meeting a girl, falling hopelessly and marrying the love of your life. It’s the “Things We Drink To.” In short, Evan’s offering is essentially the soundtrack to our lives.
Set for release on 12 October, fans who simply cannot wait will be treated to instant access to five of Evans’ songs upon placing their pre-order. The songs include his massively successful Day Drunk – which has been deemed one of the best country songs of the week by Rolling Stone – as well as the endearing Kiss Somebody and American.
Currently entertaining US fans at various US festivals, Evans is set to kick off his much-awaited Australian tour on 5 September. The tour will feature guest performances by the UK’s very own rising star, Catherine McGrath. Just a week later, Evans heads back to the US to perform alongside country superstar Chris Young.
