The Slow Readers Club have surprised fans with a new acoustic EP, For All Here To Observe, just days before embarking on their headlining tour across Europe. The EP features unplugged versions of several of the band’s most loved tracks including their most recent single Supernatural.
Mixed and produced by Dutch Uncles and Gaz Coombes genius Phil Bulleyment, the acoustic EP brings a whole new tone to songs fans know all too well. With the grit and grime of their songs stripped away, the songs reveal a rich layer of emotion and fragility. This is most notable in I Saw A Ghost, originally featured on the band’s 2015 album Calvacade.
The EP also features a few golden oldies from their 2011 debut album, The Slow Readers Club, while bringing in a few of their latest tracks including Lunatic of which the music video was recently launched. You can get a sneak peek of their acoustic offering by checking out the unplugged version of On The TV here.
This special acoustic offering comes as The Slow Readers Club is preparing for their major European tour set to take place in October through to November. Not only will fans get to hear their latest music live, but it will also be the band’s biggest live performances to date. Some of the iconic venues confirmed for this massive tour include the 02 Apollo in Manchester as well as the unmissable Lincoln’s Q2 Festival happening in November.
Following the release of their latest album, Build A Tower, the band rocketed their way up the Official UK album chart, hitting number 18 in its first week. It also made it to the number-4 sport on both the vinyl and physical album charts, while winning top spot in the cassette chart.
If ever there was a band to keep a close eye on, it’s The Slow Readers Club. With the year almost over, 2019 is certainly the year that could make this formidable band a household name.
