Human Heart to Power Apple IPod to Listen to Music?

All music fans could be soon charging up their iPods via the power of your own heart. It sounds strange but scientists are believed to be close to implementing a small chip called a Nanogenerator to power electronic devices.

Basically the small flexible chip, which is similar size to a postage stamp has the ability to generate small amounts of electricity off the human heart.

Apparently these special chips have the ability to produce power similar to a couple of AA batteries, this makes the possibility of charging small electronic devices such as the IPod very real.

Who knows, you maybe soon listening to your favorite songs through the power of your own heart. Heavy metal and rock fans might have to take more care though with this type of device, LOL.

Zhong Lin Wang who is leading this research said in a meeting in California that Nanogenerators stacked together could power devices such as cell for chargers or IPods. He also said that at the moment this is not top priority but it shows what devices this new technology can be applied to.

This research has been carried out over 6 years
