Award winning singer Lady Gaga has confirmed that she will be the headlining act at this years Radio 1 Big Weekend.
The two day festival will take place this year in Carlisle at the airfield with Lady Gaga being joined by other big names including the Foo Fighters and The Black Eyed Peas on the main stage.
The Radio 1 Big Weekend is the largest free ticketed event in Europe with fans able to register for tickets from March 31.
DJ Scott Mills made the announcement about the festival which will be taking place on May 14 and 15 and will be the first time that Lady Gaga has performed on stage since her shows in London as part of the Monsters Ball tour in December last year.
Lady Gaga told Radio 1 listeners: “I'm so excited. I've been planning and rehearsing for so many months now.”
She added: “This event is so important to me. Thank you for all your love and support.”
While Lady Gaga will headline the main stage on the Sunday the Foo Fighters will be the main attraction for the Saturday while other names including The Wombats, The Script, Katy B and Tinie Tempah are all also confirmed as taking part in the festival.
Last year it was a case of girl power at the Radio 1 Big Weekend held in Bangor in North Wales as Rihanna, Cheryl Cole and Florence and the Machine wowed the crowds and festival goers will be hoping from some typical outlandish Lady Gaga stage behavior from the Born This Way star.
