Music fans get ready.. While the new Nintendo 3DS has opened up the third dimension for gamers Hasbro have created a new gadget to allow iPhone and Ipod Touch owners the chance to use their devices in 3D.
The new accessory from Hasbro will transform the 2D view usually seen on the iPhone and iPod into 3D with a handheld viewer.
The makers claim that their binocular like goggles will create a similar experience to that of film goers watching in 3D with glasses.
The My3D Handheld Viewer comes with a mount to allow users to attach the device to their iPhone or iPod with users then looking through the goggles for the full 3D experience.
According to reports this the first of a number of devices to be released by Hasbro with the company itending to expand their 3D range while working with industry partners to bring additional content to iOS users.
Hasbro intend to launch a number of 3D app titles that will draw on the 3D goggles with one of the applications said to be a 3D tour of Los Angeles.
Hasbro are also rumoured to be working with film studios to bring movie 3D movie trailers to the iPhone and iPod.
Currently the gadget restricts the use of the touch screen element of the iPhone and iPod touch so it cannot be used with games that utilise this function however it is rumoured that it may not be possible to create 3D experiences on iOS until a programme is first devised by Apple themselves.
The Hasbro My3D Handheld Viewer will be available to buy at selected stores in the US from April 3 and is set to retail at $35.
