North London-based four-piece alternative pop group STIIR has released a new single, and as was the case with their debut single, Free Yourself, this new track is equally infectious.

Luxury Butter is the latest offering from a band which promises to steal headlines and music charts in the months to come. With their mellow blend of jazz, soul and pop,  STIIR is proving they’re exceptionally good at meshing together genres.

As with the title, Luxury Butter is truly a luxurious mix of smooth vocals, solid guitar and retro-ish synth sounds. Add to that the catchy pop hook, and you have a song made for radio. However, despite the pop sounds, STIIR’s music is anything but superficial. When you listen closely, you soon realise Luxury Butter has a far deeper, more dark side to it as well. “The song plays on the realities of what relationships are actually like. There’s a darker side to it sometimes,” STIIR explains. “There’s a brooding element that carries throughout – tension and suspicion. I think you can hear that in the music.”

Already a huge favourite among various UK-based music aficionados, STIIR has managed to grab the attention of big names including Radio 1, BBC Introduction and John Kennedy at Radio X. The band also recently made their way onto Spotify’s Hot New Bands playlist with Luxury Butter.

STIIR has also proven to be a huge hit among live music fans following their debut performance at This Feeling’s 12th Birthday Bash in October. The band now intends to take their music even further as they plan to perform at several live events, showcasing their latest releases.
